Betting exchanges
The main difference between a betting exchange and a bookmaker is that you do not bet against the bookmaker. At betting exchanges people are betting against each other making their own odds. The bet will be only valid, if it matches the bet of other persons.
As there is no bookmaker charge you can get 20% higher odds compared to "normal" sports betting companies.
Some particularities of betting exchanges (On the example of: Betfair):
- There are no brokerage fees so you can get 20% higher profits
- You are the bookmaker therefore you can make your own odds.
- As an insurance you can sell your bet before the end of the game (expiration).
- You can also bet agains a result (LAY-Bet) for example ManU will not win!
- Especially attractive for LIVE-INPLAY-BETSas there are faster changes of the odds.
- Winner wanted - there are no limits - the provider gets only a brokerage fee if you win.
Some disadvantages:
- More complicated than betting at a common bookmaker, but more exciting if you have enough experience.
- 2-5% from the profit will be taken from Betfair as Provision - but FROM THE WINS ONLY!!
- Not very attractive for combined bets
- There must be enough liquidity in the market (lots of bets) otherwise the odds will not be attractive.
We have certified the following providers of betting exchanges:
Betfair -
Betsson
