The beginning of first round of 1.Slovenian football league 08/09

The Championship is continuing with 21.round, already tomorrow on Friday 20.02.2009 with match in Gorica between Hit Gorica and Rudar Velenje. Most of matches will be played on Saturday, those are Nafta: Primorje, Interblock Ljubljana : Luka Koper and Maribor : Labod Drava, and on Sunday MIK CM Celje : Domžale.

Once again there is beginning of 1.Slovenian football league after winter break. On thorne there is Maribor, but 4 points in the lead are not so much far before second ranked CM Celje.

Some informations of teams:

1. NK Maribor (40 points)

Triangle from »Golden generation« Zlatko Zahovič- Darko Milanič-Zoran Pavlovič successfully runs the team of Maribor. Maribor is on 1.place, Zoran Pavlovič is one of the best, or we can say that he is the best player in the team. Morales Tavares has shown himself for a great reinforce with 11 scores. Zlatko Zahovič would like to build european Maribor.

2. MIK CM Celje (36 points)

Celje which is on 2.place has big problems with liquidity. In spite of recession they got Nejc Pečnik, which returned from Czech, Jani Zavrl, which has defended colours of Interblock and Cameron player Dinu. Dejan Kelhar left the club, and he will continue his way in Belgium. Celje is confronting with huge problems and the question is if they can follow Maribor.

3. Nafta (33 points)

All Slovenia misses Mura, which is now in second league, for which replacement is Nafta from Lendava, which ended autumn's round on 3rd place. Amel Mujaković (Austria), Jozsef Sebok and Aleš Čeh (Drava) left the club, and Rok Buzeti and Damir Pekič(bygone goalgater) has signed contract with Nafta.

4. HIT Gorica (29 points)

Gorica has with on forehead Primož Gliha, surprised many people on slovenian football scene. Gorica was main star of 17. round, which has with result 2:0 stoped victory walk of Maribor. In spite of success of Primož Gliha is not easy, because he have many rivals, and there is many people who don't want to interfere with his work. Gliha has reached success with young players, one of their greatest is Etien Velikonja.

5. Interblock Ljubljana (27 points)

Interblock with assumption of strongest and undoubted expesive team in championsip has disappointed in first round. Coach Igor Benedejč will have interesting spring.

6. Domžale (26 points)
Domžale were in last seoasons on top of the league, but when coach Slaviša Stojanovič left the club, that was huge hit for team of Domžale. In winter term there were some signings for the club: Janez Perme, Marko Božič and Paraguay player Diego Barrios, which came from Croatian Osijek. Most delightful fact is that Andraž Kirm is staying in Domžale. Haris Vučkič, Luka Žinko, which went to Turkey, Juninho and Paunescu left the club.

7. Rudar Velenje (25 points)

Rudar has left Edin Junuzovič, which has been main surprise of autumns part of championship and the best scorrer, he went to Russia. They signed contract with Renato de Moraes, which came from Armenia, and Uroš Veselič.

8. Labod Drava (25 points)

Drava is team, which will with, Primorje, Koper and Rudar, fight for staying in the league. They've got Senad Tiganj, from Croatia Tonči Žilič, from Primorje Da Silva, from Austrian Rapid Danijel Bartoš, Aleš Čeh, goalkeeper Nemanja Jozič and Saša Lalovič. Filip Palčič, Uroš Jankovič, Javier Grbec, Bruno Xavier, Vladimir Mandič, Dejan Germič, Nenad Đakovič and Žiga Gavez has left the club.

9. Primorje (18 points)

Primorje is far away from glory and they will have heavy fight for staying in the league. Hajduk from Split has lent them Mirko Žaja and from Slovakia has came Peter Petran. They came in the club also Vladimir Milenković, Goran Blagus, Dejan Marijanovič, Rok Marinič and Dejan Milič.

10. Luka Koper (18 points)

They had reinforced with Vlado Petrovič, Kristjan Polovanec and Ivica Guberac, which came back from Italy. Edin Šečič, Aleksander Pavlovič and Elvis Šahimovič left the club.
