Michael Joseph Jackson was born on 29th of August, 1958. At the age of seven Michael starts his music career with the “Jackson Five”, a band with his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon. In 1971 Michael starts his solo career with the album "Got To Be There". Already his first single, as well as the album named "Got To Be There", moved in the US charts on place 4 and the UK charts on place 5. One year later (1972) “Jacko” has his first Nr.1 hit with "Ben/You Can Cry On My Shoulder".
The breakthrough to the absolute music superstar created Michael Jackson with the album "Thriller" (released in December, 1982) which is the best-selling album of all time (108 million sales). “Thriller” leads all important album charts for months and have all together seven Top10 singles, including the Nr.1 hits "Billie Jean" and "Beat It". Also Michael Jacksons duet with Paul McCartney "Say Say Say" become Nr.1. Cult status reached the 18 minutes long music video to the song "Thriller" produced by John Landis (Blues Brothers, American Werewolf, …).
In 1987, Michael Jackson released his next studio album “Bad". “Bad” had lower sales than “Thriller”, but was still a substantial commercial success and became in 25 countries the number 1 of the album charts. The video to the title song "Bad" was produced by Martin Scorsese. Five singles of the album, “I Just Can't Stop Loving You", "Bad", "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Man in the Mirror" and "Dirty Diana", went to number one on the US single charts, more than any other album. Also Michael Jacksons next three studio albums "Dangerous", "HIStory" and "Invincible" leads the album charts in USA, UK or Germany for some weeks. The single "Black Or White" from the album "Dangerous" stands seven weeks on place 1 of the US charts.
After the release of "Invincible" in October, 2001 it became quietly around Michael Jackson, at least what concerns his music. In 2003, Michael Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse for second time. The trial versus Jackson began two years after he was originally charged. The trial lasted five months, until the end of May 2005. In June, Jackson was found not guilty on all counts.
On the 5th of March, 2009 Michael Jackson holds a press conference to announce his Comeback Tour “This is it” at O2 Arena in London. First 10 concerts were scheduled, but due to the great demand for tickets the "This is it" tour was expanded for 50 Comeback Gigs. The ticket sales for the concerts broke several records. On the 13th of March the regular ticket sale began, few hours later he was over again: All tickets were sold off. If Jackson will perform all 50 sell out concerts then over one million people will see live the biggest comeback of the pop history.
Due to the state of health of Michael Jackson first Bookies have already offer special bets, like how many of the 50 scheduled concerts taking place. Gamebookers pays at the moment the odd of 11.0 if "Jacko" plays only between 1 and 10 gigs.
