The Teams of Group A:

Switzerland: Köbi Kuhn nominates 23-man squad

Manager Jakob Kuhn selected his final 23-man squad for the EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Mario Eggimann, Steve von Bergen and Thomas Häberli were the unfortunate trio to miss out.

Due to an injury Blaise Nkfuo (BSC Young Boys Bern) misses the EURO08 in Austria and Switzerland. After a medical checkup Nkufo leaves the teamcamp in Tessin.

Czech Republic squad without Rosický

The Czech Republic will go into the EURO 2008 finals without their captain Tomáš Rosický. The midfield player of Arsenal London must fit on account of a knee injury.

Also midfielder Daniel Pudil (Slavia Praha) has withdrawn from the Czech squad after breaking a bone in his hand, with Rudolf Skácel from Hertha BSC being called up in his place. Therefore the newly-crowned Czech champions Slavia Praha will not have a single player in the squad for the EURO 08 in Austria and Switzerland.

In addition manager Karel Brückner has to go definitively renounce on Radek Šírl. The midfield player of UEFA-Cup-Winner Zenit St. Petersburg is also suffering from a knee injury.

Portugal: Scolari nominates squad without Maniche

There was no place for Maniche in Luiz Felipe Scolari's final 23-man squad for the EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, although his brother Jorge Ribeiro is included after an excellent season in the defence of Boavista Porto.

Maniche was one of the stars of the previous EURO 2004 in Portugal, and also of the FIFA World Cup in Germany before appearing eight times in qualifying for Austria and Switzerland. Maniche pays the price of the fact that he couldn´t get a regular place at Inter Mailand.

The only uncapped member of Scolari's squad is goalkeeper Rui Patrício (Sporting Lissabon). His club colleagues João Moutinho and Miguel Veloso are present at the final party just like Hélder Postiga. The absolute superstar of the Portuguese team is Christiano Ronaldo (Manchester United).

Portugal faces in Group A on Turkey (7.6.), Czech Republic (11.6.) and Switzerland (15.6.).

Portugal squad:
Goalkeepers: Ricardo (Betis Sevilla), Quim (Benfica), Rui Patrício (Sporting Lissabon)

Forwards: Nuno Gomes (Benfica), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Hugo Almeida (Werder Bremen), Ricardo Quaresma (FC Porto), Hélder Postiga (Panathinaikos)

No place for striker Hakan Şükür in the Turkey squad

Turkey coach Fatih Terim has named his final squad for the EURO 2008. The big surprise: there was no place for veteran forward Hakan Şükür, which has played eight times in qualifying.

Terim has opted to exclude Yildiray Baştürk, Halil Altıntop and İbrahim Kaş from his squad for UEFA EURO 2008 as he confirmed his 23-man squad for the final tournament.

Turkey right-back defender Gökhan Gönül from Fenerbahçe has been removed from their provisional EURO squad due to a bruised second-metatarsal bone in his right foot.

Turkey faces in Group A on Portugal (7.6.), Switzerland (11.6.) and Czech Republic (15.6.).

Turkey squad:
Goalkeepers: Volkan Demirel (Fenerbahçe), Rüştü Reçber (Beşiktaş), Tolga Zengin (Trabzonspor)

Defenders: Sabri Sarıoğlu (Galatasaray), Gökhan Zan (Beşiktaş), Emre Aşık (Galatasaray), Servet Çetin (Galatasaray), Hakan Balta (Galatasaray), Uğur Boral (Fenerbahçe), Emre Güngör (Galatasaray)
