The history of Slovenian football (from 2002 to 2004)

In January 2002 the Executive Committee NZS gave the leading of the league to League Association of the first league. 2002/03 season was marked by deprivation of points to Ljubljana and Korotan. The first was taking the three points, because in the 32nd round did not compete in the match in Koper. And second, did not appear in the two matches and was excluded from the league. On a scale were taken just reults of first 11 matches of the season for the team from Korotan.

2003/04 season can be considered as one of the most interesting. In the last round, have the opportunity for the title three teams: Gorica, Maribor and Olimpija. Champion became Gorica and the second time in history become the best team in the country. Championship may was decided in the fifth round of the event, where at the game between Olimpija and Gorica for the first team appeared Bostjan Kreft at Olimpija side, which was not in the record. The match has ended with the result 0:0, subsequently it was a victory (0:3) automaticly allocated to Gorica. Gorica was the champion in the next two seasons and in the number of titles (4) is on the second place on the scale, equivalent with Olimpija.
