Wednesday, 30th of september,
Olympique Marseille, ten times winner of the french league and one time winner of the Champions League (1993), will visit
Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, to play their second match in the group phase of the UEFA Champions League, season 2009/10.
It's first game of the group phase Real Madrid played against FC Zürich and won 2:5 (away game). Two goals scored portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo via free-kick. Also in the Primera Division the team of manager Manuel Pellegrini plays very successfully. Real Madrid won all of their five games. At the moment, the best scorer of the merengues is Cristiano Ronaldo with five goals in the league.
Olympique Marseille at the moment is fourth of the french league (but the matchday is still not completed, with four victories, two draws and one game lost (what happened yesterday – the 26th of september – against AFC Valenciennes in an away game, where they were beaten 3:2). Their first game of the group phase, Marseille lost against AC Milan 1:2. The goal of Marseille scored the argentinian defender Ivan Gabriel Heinze.
For sure, the game in Madrid will be a very special one for the spanish forward Fernando Morientes, who played 182 games for Real Madrid an scored 72 goals. Let's see how motivated he will be against his ex-club.
