Rafael Benitez has seen his 2009/2010 season slowly slip down the drain. After crashing out of the
Champion's League,
FA Cup and
Carling Cup, many
Liverpool fans have called for the Spaniard to be replaced. Club owners have claimed that they will give Benitez until the end of the season to salvage a Top Four finish.
The Reds currently sit at 7th and are 7 points behind the top four with a tough match against
Tottenham Hotspur coming in the midweek.
Despite the Merseyside club's poor performance this season, Rafael Benitez insists he has helped the team improve since coming on in 2004.
"The difference between the club before (Benitez's arrival) and now is massive in terms of money, the value of the squad and the pride of the fans," said the
Liverpool manager.

"We won the Champions League (in
Benitez's first season) after 21 years and we are the only club in England that has the trophy [to keep] for five wins.
"As a club we have pride again and that is important. It is true we have improved from a six (out of 10) to an eight or nine. To go to nine/10 that is very difficult."
