Relegation: Le Mans UC 72, US Boulogne, Grenoble Foot

The positions on the top and at the end of the ranking in the French Ligue 1 weren't already clear: Olympique de Marseille won the title and the trio Le Mans UC 72, US Boulogne and Grenoble Foot has to go in the Ligue 2. Totally, all the three teams weren't on the niveau of the rest of the competitors for a long time, and so they would have needed minimum eight points more for a place in the safety area.

On the other side, there are three new teams on the best football piste in France next season. After winning 1:0 against Clermont and after reaching the third place behind the SM Caen and Stade Brestois, the AC Arles Avignon validated his ticket for the Ligue 1. Nobody expected this moving up at the beginning of this year.
