Spain will probably have to pass on
Fernando Torres in their opener against Switzerland on Wednesday. Torres made his return from injury in the last warm-up match before the FIFA World Cup 2010 as Spain celebrated a 6:0 win over Poland and Torres scored the fifth goal. However, Spain coach
Vicente Del Bosque doesn´t want to risk anything and gives Fernando Torres a break in the first match at the FIFA WC 2010.
Better looks the situation for Andres Iniesta. Coach Del Bosque is confident that the Barcelona midfielder will be fit enough to start against Switzerland. Iniesta suffered a thigh injury during the warm-up win over Poland and has been training away from his team-mates. "Iniesta will play and he will be in the starting line-up. Tomorrow he will train with the ball and there are still 72 hours left," said the Spain coach on www.fifa.com.
Spain faces in Group H on Switzerland (16 June), Honduras (21 June) and Chile (25 June).
