Malian referee
Koman Coulibaly will face a FIFA panel on Monday to defend his decision of disallowing a goal during Friday night's match between
USA and
Slovenia.
The goal, which began from a Landon Donovan free-kick and headed home by
Maurice Edu, came at the end of a pulse raising game in which the USA overturned a 2-0 deficit to pull even. The disallowed goal would likely have given the United States victory as it came in the 90'.
Replays indicate no foul or offsides from the USA end. The only discernible rough play came from the Slovenian side.
USA coach
Bob Bradley seemed slightly annoyed at the post-match press conference: "Did I think it was a good goal? Yes I did. The only thing that could have been called would have been a penalty kick for us."
The
United States will face Algeria on Wednesday afternoon as England plays Slovenia to decide who will advance in Group C.
