WC-Rooney fit for Germany Clash

Football - World Cup 2010 - 2010-06-24
The FA has announced that Wayne Rooney's injury is minor and he will start against Germany on Sunday. The young striker incurred an ankle injury during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Slovenia.

Rooney was subbed off in the 72' after seen rubbing his ankle. In early march, the Manchester United hitman suffered ligament damage in his right ankle.

It was thought that he would not train before the game at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, but he was seen with the rest of the squad on Thursday morning warming up for practice.

Ankle problems seem to be rampant as both Aaron Lennon and Michael Carrick are sitting out of practice for similar reasons.
