UEFA investigates racism claims in Liverpool/Rabotnicki match

Football - Uefa - Europa League - 2010-07-30
UEFA has made public claims that racist chants were directed at Liverpool's players during Thursday's Europa League 3rd round qualifier in Macedonia.

The guilty party, FK Rabotnicki fans, are shown in photos making 'monkey taunts' at either striker David N'Gog or winger David Amoo. N'Gog vindicated himself, scoring the matches only 2 goals to put Liverpool in a firm lead for the return tie.

A UEFA spokesman said: "We are aware of the matter but we are waiting for the reports from the delegate and the referee."

Racism in Macedonia is not a new thing. In 2003, during an international friendly against England, Macedonian fans hurled abuse at Emile Heskey, Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell.
