| Newcastle United will welcome their trip to Carrow Road to play Norwich City having had it much tougher over the last three games. Their start to the season surprised many, with their 11 game unbeaten run taking them into the Champions League places, but they've been brought back down to earth by taking a single point from Chelsea and the two Manchester sides over their last three games. |

Norwich won't make it easy however; 11th place at this stage may be more than some would have expected from a side promoted from the Championship last season, but Paul Lambert has his side performing well and crucial wins over fellow promoted sides Swansea and QPR may prove doubly valuable if they find themselves in a relegation battle come the end of the season. De Laet, Ayala, Ward and Vaughan are injured for the home side, while Coloccini, Taylor, Tiote and Marveaux all have problems for the Magpies.
This is Newcastle's best start to the season since the '96-'97 season, when they finished second. A lot has changed in the Premier League between then, when they were among the league's big spenders, and the present season in which Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley have been winning over fans despite their frugality. While the likes of Cabaye, Ba and Ben Arfa have added to Newcastle's attacking threat, there's still work to do in defence, with just one clean sheet in ten in the league.
