Austria has started the World Cup qualifier with a sensational 3:1-home victory against France. Three matches later the Austrian team stands with one's back to the wall. After one draw (1:1 against the Faroe Islands) and two defeats (0:2 against Lithuania and 1:3 against Serbia) Austria is already eight points behind group leader Serbia.
