Brighton & Hover Albion - Newcastle United, 28.1.2012

Football - England - FA Cup - 2012-01-28
Match preview
Brighton came perilously close to a surprise exit to Wrexham in the third round of the FA Cup, requiring a replay, extra time and penalties to eliminate the conference side. Albion will hope that underdog status serves them better as they get their chance at a Cup upset against Newcastle United on Saturday. BET HERE:

Gus Poyet's side can take some confidence from Newcastle's recent record - no wins in their last eight FA cup away fixtures. The Magpies haven't featured in the fifth round since 2006, and they'll be without new signing Papiss Demba Cissé and top scorer Demba Ba, who have another African Nations Cup game to play despite Senegal being eliminated already.

Lovenkrands and Coloccini both have short term problems that may keep them out, while Taylor and Marveaux are longer term absentees. Alan Pardew's side have every chance of mounting a challenge in the competition, but he'll have to set his side up wisely to ensure that the difference in quality evidenced by 24 league places between the two sides is made to count.
