After a mediocre regular season with 9 wins and 7 losses, the New York Giants have changed form for the better just in time for a clutch playoff run. The winner of the NFC East first faced the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Playoff, winning 24-2. In that match Eli Manning showed his superstar status with three touchdown passes. The next surprise came in the Eastern Conference Semi-Final, where Giants defeated Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 37:20. Finally, they were able to book their ticket to the Super Bowl after winning in San Francisco in overtime with a 31-yard field goal from Lawrence Tynes. Giants were underdogs in each of these matches and will remain that with bookies favouring the Patriots by 3 points.
The New England Patriots were consistently strong all season. With 13 wins and only 3 losses, the Pats were the second strongest team in the NFL and the first in the American Football Conference (AFC). When play-offs kicked off, Patriots continued their blistering form with a 45-10 win over Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. The AFC final against Baltimore Ravens was a closer affair in which Tom Brady saved his team after going down 16-20 in the 4th to make it 23-20. Ravens' kicker Billy Cundiff had a chance to salvage overtime, but his attempt went wide. Brady and company have booked their place in yet another Super Bowl, but their Achilles Heel (and one which the Giants will seek to exploit) has been their pass defense.

These teams met in the Super Bowl for the 2007 NFL Season. In that match the New York Giants held the upper hand and won 17-14. Eli Manning was the MVP of that meeting and his role will be integral to the Giants' success this time around as well. New England Patriots will be out for revenge, and their strong pass offense will likewise rest in the hands of quarterback Tom Brady.

New York Giants- W/W/W/W/W
New England Patriots - W/W/W/W/W
New England's weakness in pass defense coupled with Eli Manning's penchant for making plays when it counts could see the Giants snatch yet another Super Bowl ring from the Patriots.
Tip: New York Giants +3 (Point Spread)
