Livetipsportal presents you its pronostics for tonight's NHL playoffs games. Only three games today, with Bruins@Canadiens, Capitals@Rangers, and Blackhawks@Flames.
Montreal Canadiens – Boston Bruins
Series: Bruins lead 2-0
As expected, the B's have been dominant at home against their Original Six rivals of Montreal. Carey Price has been far from impressive in the first two games, allowing some very bad goals and posting a brutal 4.80 GAA and a very weak 87.5 SV%. He has even been pulled off in game 2. With such a poor goaltending, the Canadiens have no business winning a game. At the other end of the rink, Tim Thomas has been spectacular, with 1.50 GAA and 94.9%. But even if the Habs could solve their goaltending situation, they don't look to be able to handle the powerfull Bruins, even on home ice.
Choice: Boston Bruins, with an odd of 2.30 at Expekt
New York Rangers – Washington Capitals
Series: Rangers lead 2-0
Henrik Lundqvist single-handedly won the first two games of the series for the Rangers. If the Caps solved their goalie situation with the superb play of Semen Varlamov in game 2 (23 saves out of 24 shots faced), King Henrik has been even better by stopping all of the 35 shots thrown at his net, giving his team a 1-0 win. And he seems to be able to win the whole series all by himself. However, the Caps are in a must win situation, so we can expect them to come in real hard. But this is balanced by the fact that the Rangers are know benefiting from home ice, and will have all the luxury to use their strong defensive play to shutdown the Caps' forwards. And they know that a win tonight would put them in an extremly comfortable position to win the series with a sweep, giving them time to rest before round 2.
Choice: New York Rangers, with an odd of 2.70 at Bwin
Calgary Flames – Chicago Blackhawks
Series: Blackhawks lead 2-0
The Flames shown a very solid effort in their two games in Chicago, but found themselves unable to get away with a win. However, they've been strong all season long on home ice. And if they show the same kind of effort tonight than the one displayed in Chicago, they should get the edge. That being said, they will need a more consistent performance from their star goalie Miika Kiprusoff, who's been able to make tremendous saves just to take some questionnable goals moments later, posting very average stats of 3.03 GAA and 90.2 SV%. It's a must win game for them, and they'll benefit from the strong support of the "C of red". Add their strong work ethic, and they should cash in.
Choice: Calgary Flames, with an odd of 2.20 at Expekt
