Liverpool have lost six of their last seven matches in league play, a run that has frustrated fans and club alike. With the top four out of reach and Europa League play already secured for next season, the problem is likely a lack of motivation. The only remaining competition Liverpool are challening for is an FA Cup victory to go along with their Carling Cup secured in February. Pepe Reina received a red card in Liverpool's last match, so backup keeper Alexander Doni will make his debut against Aston Villa.
On two losses running, Villa are playing a dangerous game just five points above relegation. To be fair, Alex McLeish's boys have a game in hand, but that five point gap could quickly turn into a problem for the Birmingham club in a matter of a couple weeks. McLeish has a host of injury problems on all fronts and will likely rely on Emile Heskey and Gabriel Agbonlahor to lead the attack against Liverpool.
