The game between
Bologna and
Lecce, Sunday at 3 p.m. at the stadio dell’Ara in Bologna, is this week's hottest game in the race for salvation. For Bologna it's already the third deciding game in a row after the ones against Reggina (which they lost 1-2) and last week's thriller against Torino (1-1). At some minutes before the end of the game Bologna already seemed to be in Serie B, but then a penalty kick reanimated them, to the big joy of their supporters. As the match between Lecce and Napoli also finished with a draw (1-1), the positions haven't really changed after last weekend. Only for Reggina who lost their game in Genova against Sampdoria 0-5 the goal of salvation seems out of reach, as the calabrians are already four points away from Torino at three games before the end of the season...
The "rossoblu" are now hoping to make a big step towards salvation, and in fact they might leave Torino behind them with a victory, as the latter have to face Napoli at Naples' San Paolo. But for the moment this is all pure theory and maths, the red-and-blue have to beat Lecce, otherwise the Serie B is coming closer.
Of course it's the same for Lecce as well – the giallorossi were not able to profit from the draw of their direct concurrents Torino and Bologna and so now they have to make at least one point in Bologna. Who loses this game is doomed to be relegated, which is affirmed also by Lecce's coach De Canio. If they finish with a draw everything remains open, but of course in this case Torino would have the chance to put a bigger gap between themselves and their concurrents in case of a victory in Naples (which is difficult but not impossible).
However things are going,it's quite probable that the race for salvation remains open also after this weekend. Maybe Toro is in the best position for the moment, but let's not forget that they have a very difficult program in front of them with away games in Naples and Rome and a home game against Genoa. Lecce still has to play against Fiorentina at home and against Genoa at the stadio Marassi. Bologna will play against Chievo in Verona and against Catania at Bologna's stadio dell’Ara. It seems as if the program of the red and blue is slightly easier than the ones of Toro and Lecce but this won't help them if they dont manage to beat the south italians this weekend, which wont be easy at all.
Certainly the two teams won't give away any presents, but in my opinion the fear of losing will paralyze both of them, the logic result being a draw which would only help Torino.
My tip is therefore
a draw, x, the best odd is at

3,50.
