Serena Williams are for the fourth time in history in the
Ladies' final of Wimbledon (Saturday, 4th of July 2009, 2:00 pm CET). In 2002 and 2003 Serena Williams triumphed at the
„All England Tennis Championships“, last year Venus Williams won the
"Sisters-Act" and celebrated at the same time her 5th Wimbledon triumph.
Serena Williams (number 2 of WTA ranking) has won the Grand Slam tournament of Wimbledon in 2002 and 2003. All together the younger Williams-Sister has won 10 Grand Slam tournaments. Last the Australian Open in 2009 with 6:0, 6:3 in the final against Dinara Safina. On the way to the Wimbledon final 2009 Serena Williams lost only 1 set, in the semi-final against Jelena Dementieva. Serena won with 6:7 (4), 7:5 and 8:6.
Venus Williams had less problems to reach the final of the „All England Tennis Championships 2009“. The five times Wimbledon winner lost no set in their six matches and beat Dinara Safina (WTA ranking 1) in the semi-final with 6:1 and 6:0. All together Venus stands for the eighth time in the Wimbledon final, 5 times she won the tournament (2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008). Only Martina Navratilova (9) and Steffi Graf (7) have won more titles at the „All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet club“.
