| Southampton host Everton on Monday night hoping to pull further points away from the relegation battle. Everton's sights remain set on the Champions League places and with only three points separating them from Tottenham in fourth before this weekend's matches take place, there's every chance that they could achieve this should they manage their traditional strong finish to the season. Everton's small squad makes this a challenge, and their budget means January business looks unlikely. In contrast Southampton still seem to have deep pockets with Vegard Forren looking like a likely signing. |

Southampton will be close to full strength although Nigel Adkins will hope that Adam Lallana's injury doesn't keep him out too long - a prolonged absence would be a blow for Southampton with his creativity at the heart of a lot of their successes so far this season. Jose Fonte is also out, probably into next month, while Emmanuel Mayuka will be away on international duty for up to a fortnight.
Everton's Kevin Mirallas hopes to put his hamstring trouble behind him after it flared up again against Tottenham, having returned to training this week. Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert are both still a couple of weeks from returning from groin and calf problems respectively but David Moyes should have an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from.
