Organizer Austria hits in the first meeting of Group B in Vienna on Croatia. The Croatians have with Modrić, Kranjčar and Olić a very play-strong team and count as a confidential favourite on the title. Forward Eduardo (10 goals in qualifying) is injured and absent for the EURO 2008. In the qualification the team of coach Slaven Bilic dominated their Group. With the final 3:2-away victory in the Wembley stadium the Croatians also destroyed the EM-dreams of England.

Austria goes as a crass outsider in this match against Croatia, but with the home advantage a surprise could succeed. The question of the Austrian-goalkeeper (Macho or Manninger) is not cleared yet. I believe that Austria creates a draw.
