Wigan Athletic will face off against Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday trying to rebound from last week´s crushing
4 - 0 defeat against Arsenal. Although Wigan will have home advantage, they will certainly face an uphill battle on Saturday with Chelsea having won their last seven games, allowing for just three goals in the process.

Chelsea will have a lot of confidence going into Saturday, with key - player Didier Drogba declared fit to play against Wigan. The Ivorian was carried off during Sunday's 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur after scoring an impressive third goal for his side. Fortunately for the Blues, however, the injury appears to be nothing but a severe cramp and Drogba was cleared to play after a calf scan revealed no significant damage. Another boost for Chelsea is the return of midfielder Joe Cole, who has bee absent from competitive action since rupturing his cruciate knee ligaments in January's FA Cup victory at Southend.

Saturday´s match could either be a turning point in Wigan´s very disappointing season so far, or a mere continuation of indifferent performances and questionable decisions. Considering their evident lack of talent and leadership the latter alternative seems to be much more realistic. Despite being poised to bounce back from Sunday´s disaster against Arsenal, the Blues might proof too big a hurdle to overcome, even on home soil.
