On the program this saturday evening at the
Stadio Marassi in Genova (kick-off at 6 p.m.):
Sampdoria vs Inter, the duel between the first (
José Mourinho's Inter) and the third team in the classification (Sampdoria with
Antonio Cassano & co).
Sampdoria have had an excellent start into this season, with four victories in a row (against Chievo, Udinese, Atalanta and Siena). On Wednesday evening finally the "blucerchiati" (blue-striped) have been stopped by
Fiorentina in Florence by 2-0. Let's see if this defeat remains only an episode or if Samp's sprint has definitely been stopped.
Inter on the other hand is full of enthusiasm and self-confidence after the
victory against Napoli (3-1) which has brought
Eto'o, Milito & co on the head of the classification. The nerazzurri seem to have become a great collective, at the height of the expectations, at least in the Serie A.
At Sampdoria the difficult collaboration between their
coach Del Neri and the southern italian forward Antonio
Cassano finally seems to work, a relation not without shadows in the past (above all their intermezzo at
AS Roma which had been caracterized by conflicts and verbal fights). For the moment everything seems calm, Cassano has left behind his outbreaks and undisciplined behavior and behaves like a champion - on the ground and also outside.Of course, knowing his past, we can assume that this situation is very fragile and can change very quickly in the case of problems in the future...
The near fututre anyway is the match against Inter, so far the most difficult match for Samp. Now they will have to show if they are already in the condition to beat the italian champion or at least play at their level.
The fact of playing at home speaks for Sampdoria, but I doubt that this will be enough to beat the team from Milan. I think Mou's team is still too strong and will win also this time at Marassi.
