1. FSV Mainz 05 hosts
Hamburger SV in the upcoming
14th round of the German Bundesliga. Mainz is the biggest upset of the first season half so far. The Tuchel men are on table rank 6 and therewith direct behind HSV and ahead Bayern München.
Last season played Hoffenheim as promoted team a sensational first season half, this year FSV Mainz takes over this part. After matchday 13 they are on table rank 6 and only 1 point behind forth placed team Hoffenheim. Above all at the Bruchweg-Stadium they are very strong. FSV Mainz is currently unbeaten at home (5 wins, 1 draw) and therewith the best Bundesliga home team of the league. The trio Andreas Ivanschitz, Aristide Bancé and Tim Hoogland scored together 14 of overall 19 Mainz goals. In the scorer ranking Ivanschitz (6 goals, 6 assists) is second behind Bremen player Mesut Özil.
Hamburger SV faces at the moment rank 5, so they are in the league table direct ahead Mainz. HSV were unbeaten in the first 10 league games and together with Leverkusen leaders. But in the last weeks they lost important points. The 2-3 on matchday 11 against Mönchengladbach followed a 2-2 in Hannover and at last a 0-1 at home against VfL Bochum. Altogether the Labbadia men are since 5 games without a win (3 draws, 2 defeats), but in foreign stadiums they are unbeaten (2 wins, 3 draws). In the away game against Mainz coach Bruno Labbadia will have to pass on midfielder Zé Roberto, who is the next on the long injured list.
