Football, Italy, Serie A: Inter vs Fiorentina

The big match of this weekend's Serie A is surely the match between Inter and Fiorentina, sunday, 2 p.m. at San Siro.

Both teams were also busy in the european competitions this week - with Inter receiving a bitter defeat against Barcelona (0-2) who turned out to be a lot stronger than the nerazzurri even without Messi and Ibrahimovic. In fact the two goals were scored by two youngsters, Pedro and Piqué (in Spain the latter is already called "Piquenbauer").
Inter was hardly visible in the Nou Camp, hardly any strike against the goal of Barca, this way José Mourinho and his team won't frighten anyone amongst Europe's big names...

Fiorentina on the other hand has had quite a nice week - their victory against Lyon, achieved thanks to a goal by Vargas, means the next round of the Champions League for Fiorentina, a really fantastic and unexpected succes for the violet team, considering that they had to face Lyon and Liverpool in their group.

Now that the enthusiasm has passed Cesare Prandelli and his team have to play against Inter at San Siro. The italian champions were not always convincing in their home games in this season, but still they never lost and only lost two points so far (against Bari and Roma). For Fiorentina it would be very important to win or at least not to lose in order to defend their weak position in the classification (6th place and only one point ahead of Genoa). With a victory they could even arrive at the 4th place, but this will be very difficult. Inter is in a bad mood, but until now they haven't made a lot of mistakes in the Serie A, and so I think they will also beat Fiorentina.
