The
Serie A returns, after this week of
Champions League (which has been a bit ambiguous for the italian teams), with, amongst others, the match between
Sampdoria and AS Roma,
sunday evening at the Stadio Marassi.
AS Roma has won four out of their five last games in the Serie A (the highlight being last week's victory in the derby against Lazio) and they will go to the Stadio Marassi with a lot of optimism. Sampdoria has received two 0-3 defeats in the last two games (at San Siro against
Milan and in the derby against
Genoa), so they are not really having a great time in this moment - on tuesday there has been a lively discussion between
Antonio Cassano and some fans on Samp's training ground.
In the Serie A however, Sampdoria is still on the 8th place (with the same number of points as Genoa and also Roma), and with a victory they could arrive on the 4th place, occupied by Parma. So the game against Roma could be a good occasion to make their fans forget the black out of the last weeks. It win't be easy though as Roma is very strong now. The giallorossi are filled with euphoria after their victory against Lazio, they have 24 points just like Sampdoria, and Roma too wants to climb to higher regions as soon as possible. They have high ambitions, and in January their team of
Claudio Ranieri should be completed by another middle-forward player, a very likely solution being
Luca Toni, but let's see...

It will be a tight game, for sure Samp is in a difficult situation, but with their home crowd supporting them they might be able to find the way out of their crisis.
