Relegation strugglers
Wigan Athletic have been the most inconsistent side in the Premiership this year. Just after it looked as if they were building some momentum after consecutive defeats of Hull City and Wolverhampton, the Latics lost while away to fellow relegation strugglers
Blackburn Rovers. The players must be low on confidence after the loss, especially after seeing their keeper
Chris Kirkland sidelined with an injury.
Vladimir Stojkovic was recently signed and will start in his place. Other than this, the same squad that faced Blackburn will likely start this match.
Everton have experienced an incredible surge in form after a terrible start to the season. They have not lost in the last 10 Premier League matches and won the last 2 with multiple goal difference against Sunderland and
Manchester City. New signing Landon Donovan got his first Premiership goal against Sunderland and could be gaining in confidence as
David Moyes gives him an increasingly attacking role. Cahill and Saha have also shown improvement and will look to pressure Wigan's backline from the get-go on Saturday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta will return from injury but likely start on the bench.
Wigan has the worst defensive record in the Premiership and will have serious problems with a team who has just hit top form.
Everton are playing like a team again and will make a coherent and quick effort to put the Wigan's down in the first half.
