The round of 16 of the
ÖFB Cup brings on upcoming Wednesday the top game between
SK Sturm Graz and
Red Bull Salzburg. Due to RB Salzburgs upcoming Europa League games the cup match at Sturm Graz was rescheduled on 10.02.2010.
The round of 16 fixture between Sturm Graz and RB Salzburg is definitely the top game of the upcoming cup round. Both teams have good chances to win the current competition. For Graz it´s the last chance to win a title this year, because in the tipp3-Bundesliga they are already 11 points behind leader SK Rapid Vienna and therewith probably out of the race. The first two ÖFB Cup rounds brought two hard-won victories over TSV St. Johann (4:2 after extra time) and WSG Wattens (1:0).
Red Bull Salzburg is the only Austrian team which plays still in three competitions. In the UEFA Europa League round of 32 the Red Bulls faces on Standard Lüttich. In the national championship they are second and 2 points behind leader SK Rapid Vienna and in the national cup RB Salzburg are guests at Sturm Graz. Red Bull Salzburg qualified with a 7:1 win at Vorwärts Steyr and a 1:0 win at SV Gröding for the ÖFB Cup round of 16.
