In the upcoming 23rd round of the German Bundesliga Hamburger SV hosts rising Eintracht Frankfurt in the duel for an international qualifying spot.
HSV rushes at the international level and even in the Bundesliga from victory to victory. On Thursday, the European Cup champion of 1983 beat the Dutch series champions PSV Eindhoven 1:0. Now, the club of the Hanseatic city can expect a welcome guest at the HSH-Nordbank-Arena. The final defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt conceded the current fourth of the league still in the old Volksparkstadion (on 14th of November, 1998). At that time, Thomas Sobotzik scored the decisive goal.
For a long time Eintracht Frankfurt was only given the role of the gray mouse in the league. After so many relegations and promotions (in total three), now continuity and composure seems to be stopped off at the club. Meanwhile, the SGE is positioned to table rank seventh and merely shows a distance of two points to an European Cup place. To date, reads the season record in away games entirely positive: four wins stand towards three defeats and draws respectively.
