Ever since the 3-2 thriller at the San Siro, both
Manchester and
Milan have kept in good form. Both teams have won 3 out of 4 matches, but it would be fair to say that Milan has done better. Manchester United lost to Everton just 4 days after the match at the San Siro and were not quite convincing enough in this weekend's match against Wolverhampton. A minor injury kept
Wayne Rooney from playing this match, and it was all too obvious how impotent United's attack is without the Englishman. The Red Devils are top of the league, however, and must wait for Chelsea to play their game in hand against West Ham to see if they can retain their position.
Ronaldinho is approaching a form reminiscent of his time at Barcelona. He, and the entire Milan squad, have come together to produce some convincing results in recent matches. Strong possession and quality of attack are evident as the
Rossoneri have closed the gap between themselves and Internazionale to just 4 points.
Huntelaar and Pato are both looking very sharp up front and either or both could receive the starting nod from Leonardo for Wednesday's matchup. Pato was unable to play in the first leg and will want to make his presence felt at Old Trafford. David
Beckham will be returning to his old stomping grounds in what should be an emotional match for him. Expect him to receive a warm welcome at Old Trafford and for him to try his best to sneak in a goal in front of his old team.
In the end, both teams will be in good spirits as United have taken the lead in the Premiership and Milan put up a tough front against 3rd place
Roma. This match could be very similar to the first leg and produce many goals. It will be down to the fitness of
Rooney and
Pato, however, to determine the potency in attack of either team.
