First round and immediately repeat of last year final. Eisbaren as a champions are in my opinion first favorite for the title again. They didn't make any significant changes in comparison to last year. Gawlik, young player left, but he is definitely replaceable. More important they strengthen their defense with arrival of Canadian Richie Regehr, who came from Frankfurt Lions. He is great in defense but has also great skills in attack. No important missings for tomorrow's match (only newcomer Mclivane and Braun).
On other side Koln lost most of important players at all positions. Travis Scott as a best goalie of the league left back to Magnitka already last season, in defense they lost Slaney who went to Lions, and maybe most important they lost Ciernik and Tallaire in attack. Especially Ciernik means big loss as along with scoring goals he was great in penalty killing. They brought in team players who should replace these guys, I am not familiar with qualities of new goalie Doyle as he was playing only in minor American leagues, Pratt in defense had good season in Augsburg, otherwise he is an average player, only Johnson in attack is IMO great player. Lots of NHL experiences which would be definitely an advantage in this attacking orientated league. Home team will miss tomorrow goalie Müller (who replaced Scott last season well), Rudslätt and captain Dave McLlwain (second best scorer last season, after Ciernik).
All last year final matches were very tight, I give slight advantage to Berlin team as lines didn't change almost nothing, Koln lost significant players and also have some injuries and IMO they will need some new players if they want to repeat last year result. Their advantage in tomorrow's match is only ther home ice as their hall accept 13000 people and atmosphere is really good. But as I said all other advantages are on away side, I take ML with small-middle stake as this is a first match of the season.
