1. FC Nürnberg hosts
1. FSV Mainz 05. The last round ended for both with a defeat. Nürnberg have lost 2:4 at Werder Bremen, Mainz 0:2 at home against Wolfsburg.
Six rounds before season end 1. FC Nürnberg faces rank 15 and therewith a non-relegating rank. At the moment they are one point ahead SC Freiburg (16th) and two points ahead Hannover (17th). So the season finish becomes very interesting. Altogether five clubs are involved in the struggle against relegation. FC Nürnberg have won just three of their 13 home games in this season (3-4-6). The last three home matches brought 1 win and 2 draws - 1:1 vs Bayern München, 3:2 vs Bayer Leverkusen and 0:0 vs 1899 Hoffenheim. Nürnberg manager Dieter Hecking will have to pass on Breno (rupture of cruciate ligament).
In contrast to Nürnberg their Saturdays opponent FSV Mainz have managed yet to remain in the Bundesliga also next season. At the moment Tuchel´s side faces table rank 10, but their form points down in the last weeks. FSV Mainz have lost the last two league games without scoring a goal - 0:1 vs SC Freiburg (a) and 0:2 vs VfL Wolfsburg (h). A possible reason for the downward trend: forward Aristide Bancé, with seven goals best FSV Mainz scorer, saw the red card at the 1:0 win against 1. FC Köln and therefore Bancé was booked for three league games. So coach Thomas Tuchel will have to pass on Aristide Bancé (susp) and probably on captain Tim Hoogland (rehabilitation training).
