A pretty interesting match between a supposed top team that can't find the good rythm and a promoted team hungry for success.
Despite being one of the biggest favourites of the Swedish league,
Frölunda seems to have big difficulties so far this season, being actually last with only 3 points. The retiring of center Jonas Johnson seems to destabilise the team, as none of the usual top scorers (Nicklas Andersson, Magnus Kahnberg or Tomi Kallio) has more than one point so far after 6 games played. The team scored a very low number of goals (totaly only 10). Defensively, it is not really better, with 17 goals allowed, which is the second worst performance in the league. Goaltender Johan Holmqvist, a former player of Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, is slow to bring security in front of the net, with a save percentage of 90.3% and a 2.82 goals against average in 6 games played.
On the other hand, the promoted
Rögle are having a pretty decent start to the season and are actually 8th in the standings with 6 points after 5 games played. The attack seems to run well, with already 16 goals scored (tied for 4th), six players over half a point per game, with three of them over a point per game, including the cornerstone of their defense: Kenny Jönsson. Anyway, the defense looks weak, with already 16 goals allowed, that's the 3rd worst defense in the league. Goalies Cristopher Nihlstorp (2 games played, 90.2% of saves, 2.98 goals against average) and Jere Myllyniemi (3GP, 88.8%, 3.00 GAA) don't look to be able to bring serenity in the defensive zone.
The odds are pretty interesting for this game. On the paper,
Frölunda is ultra-favorite and is therefore credited of an odd of
1.45 at Expekt, but the actual bad shape of the teammates of Ronnie Sundin would make such a bet very risky.
Rögle has an odd of
6.00 at Bet365, and considering the bad shape of Frölunda, betting on Rögle could lead to high profits! The odd is
5.25 for a tie in regulation time (still at
Bet365).
My advice: bet on Rögle. But in a reasonable way, as the Frölunda Indians can wake up anytime!
