Quarterfinal: Uruguay vs. Ghana

Football - World Cup 2010 - 2010-07-02
Match preview
The second quarterfinal on Friday the second of July brings during the FIFA world cup 2010 in South Africa the game between Uruguay and Ghana. The match starts at 8:30 pm in the Soccer City Stadium at Johannesburg. Uruguay is unbeaten during this world cup and the eliminated the Republic Korea in the round of 16. Ghana was able to win against the American team.

The team from South America is playing an excellent football during this world cup. It's a long time ago since the team from Uruguay was able to win the world cup, but this team got the potential to reach the final. Especially the defensive work is very good, because they got just one goal from the other team in four games. Also the offensive is dangerous because the got with Luiz Suarez and Diego Forlan two of the best strikers in Europe.
The team from Ghana is since the round of 16 the last team from the African continent. The made a good job during the game against the United States but they needed the extra time to score the final goal. This goal was made from Asamoah Gyan who is responsible for three of four goals from Ghana.

Conditions/Referee
During the match between Ghana and the USA Kevin Prince Boateng and Hans Sarpei were switched out because of problems at their muscles. It is not sure if both players will be fit until Friday. It would be a big problem for Ghana if both players were injured, especially Kevin Prince Boateng is very important for the team. Also Asamoah Gyan got some problems witch his ankle but he shall be fit until the game.

Head-to-Head
There was never a game between this two teams in history.

Betting tip/prediction
If the important players from Ghana will miss the match, it will be a very difficult challenge for the team from the South African continent. I think the team from Uruguay is a little bit better in things like technique but I don't think that Ghana will capitulate without to fight. This game will not be decided after 90 Minutes.
