1. Round: FK Austria Vienna versus SV Mattersburg

Football - Austria - Bundesliga - 2010-07-18
Match Preview

Starting with upcoming weekend Austria will start to their new season of the tipp3 Bundesliga! Right at the first round the second placed of last year and one of the top favourites in this seasosn . Austria Wien, starts with a home game agaisnt SV Mattersburg and also with the celebration of their 100-year-season on national base which should be crowned with the championship at the end.

Right 3 days before Austria starts with their first regular game (Qualification for the UEFA Europe Leauge - find out more here!) where they faced their first expected win. On personal base the Violets where a little bit younger than last year, but see they transfers below.

The guest team of the first round, SV Mattersburg, will face a harder season than last year and has to take care to avoid the relegation. Own given target for 2010/11 should be a place in the middle of the rank, i expect that the SVM, Kapfenberg and FC Tirol will be the narrow circle of relegation candidates.

Äußere Einflüsse/Schiedsrichter

Referee: Dietmar Drabek

During the whole week and also on sunday Vienna sees a very hot wheater period which could be a fact in this game. For both teams it will be on their physical constraints. I see a small advantage here for Austria Vienna because of their game on thursday.

Head-to-Head

Last Game: 25th april 2010, FK Austria Wien vs SV Mattersburg 5:1 (2:0)
Wins Austria Wien: 21
Draw: 10
Wins SV Mattersburg: 5

Betting tip/prediction

Austria Wien will show their strength at the first home game of the new season and will show the way for the season 2010/11. So i guess that they sent Mattersburg back home with a result like the last one of the last season.
