On Saturday the 16 of July
KSV Superfund Kapfenberg hosts the winner of the Austrian Bundesliga from last season,
Red Bull Salzburg during the
first round of the Bundesliga season 2010/2011. Kapfenberg was on the 9th position while Salzburg won the league. But the team from Styria beat Red Bull at the end of the season and Salzburg needed time until the last round to fix the title.
The team from Kapfenberg is the clear underdog in this game but the showed us last year that they can beat every team in the Bundesliga in there own stadium. Also Red Bull Salzburg lost their last game in Kapfenberg with 0:2. 11 players from last season left the club and especially Marek Heinz will miss with his routine. But the club was also able to find 8 new players. The return from Dominique Taboga and the engagement from Dieter Elsneg were just two examples.
Red Bull Salzburg won their first important game in the champions league qualification against Torshavn with 5:0 and now the also want to win their first game in the Bundesliga. Salzburg was also very busy on the transfer marked because the bought with Gonzalo Zarate one of the best strikers in the Super League from Switzerland last year. Also Jakob Jantscher is an big increase for the team from Huub Stevens.

The weather in Austria this weekend is very hot so it will be difficult for both teams to play a fast game. Also the stadium from Kapfenberg in not very big and there were not so many visitors like in other stadiums so it will be hard for the team from Salzburg to be extra motivated. But the can try to get the revenge for the last game at Kapfenberg.
Last game: KSV Kapfenberg 2:0 Red Bull Salzburg
Wins Kapfenberg: 2
Wis Salzburg: 5
Drawn: 1
Salzburg is the big favourite in this game and the also showed us against Torshavn how good they prepared in summer. I don't think that Salzburg will start this season with a fail, so my tip is a victory from Salzburg.
