After they've won their first match, the top favourite of
Swiss Super League,
FC Basel, will have to give prove when the play at
FC Sion on Saturday evening.
A transfer ban on their new players had caused trouble in the preparation phase of the FC Sion. The new players got their permission just before the first match, where four of them were immediately used by the also new coach Challandes. Sion won the first match at Bellinzona 2:0, but had problems and scored their goals only in the last quarter-hour. In the pre-season Sion lost only twice at home, neither against the champions from Basel.
Last Tuesday FC Basel celebrated a successful debut, when they came back from a 1:2 to win 3:2 in the classic against FC Zurich. In a match on high level top striker Alexander Frei scored the two crucial goals. Basel won 11 of 18 away games in the pre-season. Three days after this match they will have to play in a Champions League qualifier at Debrecen.

Sion is strong at home and one of the better teams in Swiss Super League. But Basel is full of confidence and their players have the higher individual class. Even when it's not a banker, I expect another Basel win.
