The third placed
FC Luzern visits the leader of the
Swiss Super League FC Basel. What looks like a top clash on the first view, turns out to be quite a clear subject, as Luzern is only outsider.
An almost perfect start into the season had the champions FC Basel. Besides three wins in the League they went easily through the Champions League qualification. Last Saturday they got an embarrassing 0:1 defeat by AC Bellinzona then, where several players were rested. Basel has the best squad of the Swiss Super League and can't afford another mistake now. Four days after this match they will play the important Champions League play-off against Sheriff Tiraspol.
Also the FC Luzern started promising with seven points out of the first three games. But last week they got a painful 1:3 defeat at home against FC Utrecht in Europa League qualification and a 2:3 home loss against FC Sion followed on Sunday. In both games they exposed big problems in their defence.
