Champions League Play-Off: Red Bull Salzburg - Hapoel Tel Aviv

Football - Qualification Champions League - 2010-08-18
Match preview

On Wednesday Red Bull Salzburg hosts the champion from Israel Hapoel Tel Aviv. It´s the first leg in the UEFA Champions League Play-Off, kickoff is at 20:45 CET.

Like last year the Austrian champion Red Bull Salzburg hast to go to Israel for their Champions League Play Off. This Year they face the champion from Israel Hapoel Tel Aviv. The club is not unknown in Austria because they beat Rapid Vienna in the Europe League season 2009/10. The ambition for Red Bull Salzburg is to win their home game to have the perfect situation for the second leg next week in Israel.  But the team from coach Hub Stevens also knows that this will be a tuff challenge.

Hapoel Tel Aviv won the championship and the cup in Israel and is one of the hardest opponents Red Bull Salzburg could get in the Play-off.  Hapoel qualified with a 3:2 score against FK Aktobe from Kazakhstan for the Play-Off. But in this challenge they have lost the first game in Kazakhstan with 1:0, but could win I front of their own fans with 3:1. The ambition for Hapoel is clear, they try to reach at least 1 point in the away game.
