5th round: SK Rapid Wien versus SV Mattersburg

Football - Austria - Bundesliga - 2010-08-22
Match preview

SK Rapid Wien hosts SV Mattersburg in the 5th round of Austria´s tipp3-Bundesliga. Mattersburg have lost their four league games so far, while Rapid celebrated at least two wins. So anything but a home win would be a big surprise.

Two wins, two defeats: the statistic of SK Rapid Wien in the running championship is completely balanced, but their form becomes stronger and stronger. Rapid Wien have won the last two league games. After the 2:1 win at home over Red Bull Salzburg they celebrated a 2:0 win at Sturm Graz. At the 2:0 win in Graz defender Mario Sonnleitner saw the red card, so he will miss the home match against Mattersburg. For him Rangvald Soma will come in the starting eleven. Also not in the squad is Nikica Jelavic, the Croatian forward transferred on Thursday to Glasgow Rangers.

SV Matterburg has lost their four league games so far and so they are table last. Mattersburg have lost the opener against Austria Wien (0:2) followed by defeats against SV Ried (1:4), SV Kapfenberg (1:3) and Wacker Innsbruck (0:2). Better it runs in the first round of the ÖFB cup. Mattersburg celebrated a 5:1 win over SV Stegersbach and advanced to the second round.

Conditions/Referee

In the Hanappi stadium it is always difficult for the guest teams to win. Normally 15.000 fans and more provides for a special atmosphere. So this will be a big advantage for Rapid. In the last season they have lost just one home game (15-2-1). Referee of this fixture will be Thomas Prammer.
