The
UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying brings on Tuesday the
Group A fixture between
Austria and
Kazakhstan. For Austria this game is their qualifying opener while Kazakhstan started already on last Friday with a 0:3 at home against Turkey.
Austria couldn´t qualify for a World Cup or EURO final round since the WC 1998 in France. At the EURO 2008 they were automatically qualified as home team. Now coach Didi Constantini will stop this negative series and qualify with his young team for the UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. In their opener against Kazakhstan coach Constantini will rely on a 4-4-2 system with the forwards Marc Janko (Twente Enschede) and Erwin Hoffer (1. FC Kaiserslautern).
Kazakhstan have never qualified for a World Cup or EURO final round. Also this time they are together with Azerbaijan the underdog in Group A. In previous World Cup 2010 qualifying Kazakhstan have lost eight of their ten matches, just in the two games against Andorra they celebrated two wins. The first matchday of the EURO 2012 qualifying brought on last Friday a 0:3 at home against Turkey.
