On Tuesday
Germany hosts
Azerbaijan in their second
UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying fixture of
Group A. Anything but a clear home win for Germany would be a big surprise. Coach of the guests is Berti Vogts, a former DFB trainer.
Germany met Azerbaijan already in previous World Cup qualification. In both matches Germany was the stronger team and celebrated two victories – 2:0 away and 4:0 at home. Miroslav Klose has scored three of the six goals against Azerbaijan. The Bayern München forward is also at the moment in good form. Klose has scored the winning goal at Germany´s 1:0 away win at Belgium on last Friday.
For Azerbaijan the fixture against Germany is their opener in the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying. The other opponents in Group A are Turkey, Belgium, Austia and Kazakhstan. So Azerbaijan will be together with Kazakhstan the underdog in this Group. The last test match before the EURO qualifying ended with a 1:1 draw against Kuwait through a goal from Elvin Mammadov.
