In the old days of German football Hamburger SV against 1.FC Nürnberg was a battle of giants. But on Saturday in the third round of
German Bundesliga Nürnberg will only be outsider in Hamburg.
With two wins out of two games the
Hamburger SV started into the new season. The remarkable 2:1 win against Schalke followed a 3:1 victory in Frankfurt, where Hamburg was 0:1 down until the 61st minute. Two corners from the strong Ze Roberto turned the match, also top-striker Van Nistelroy exposed fine form with his third goal already. The HSV trusts almost the same team like last season, the only change was made in inner defence, where Westermann replaces Boateng.
After a decent 1:1 away point at Mönchengladbach the
1.FC Nürnberg received a painful 1:3 home defeat from SC Freiburg. The team, that was largely changed and rejuvenated before the season, played well against Freiburg initially and was leading 1:0, when totally fell apart after the equalizer. Now the battle against relegation has already started after the second match. Nürnberg hasn't scored a single goal against the Hamburger SV in the last six Bundesliga matches.
