In one group together with Basel and Cluj the FC Bayern and AS Roma will play the top match of
Champions League group E already on Wednesday.
Bayern Munich, Champions League finalist last season, didn't get back in stride so far. The 2:1 last minute victory against Wolfsburg followed a 0:2 defeat at Kaiserslautern and on Saturday a 0:0 at home against Bremen. Though Bayern played decent football, they couldn't score a single goal in the last two matches. Arien Robben will be injured against Roma, while Franck Ribery has to serve a suspension from last season.
The highest defeat of the last eleven years got the
AS Roma with the 1:5 in Cagliari on Saturday. Also in their first match of the season they couldn't beat Cesena at home (0:0). Their insecure defence is under fire and several players will miss the match because of injuries, at least striker Adriano will be back after long injury absence. Roma hasn't played in Champions League last season and was beaten by Arsenal on penalties the season before.
