After their defeat at Wolfsburg, Hannover 96 plays another derby on Tuesday, this time against Werder Bremen.
Surprisingly well started
Hannover 96 into the season. After victories against Frankfurt (2:1) and at Schalke (2:1) they played also strong against Leverkusen (2:2), but lost the derby at Wolfsburg last Saturday 0:2. Coach Slomka left several well known players on the bench this season and trusted young talented players instead. The team convinces with dedication and also never gave up when lost at Wolfsburg. Central defender Pogatetz will be back in the team after his suspension.
Werder Bremen suffers from a painful 0:2 home defeat against Mainz 05 on Saturday. Bremen, that usually plays good offensive football, had big problems to create chances in this match. Without the injured Mertesacker and Pizzaro the team seems insecure, new signing Sylvestre is not the expected help for the vulnerable defence. Werder has already made eight matches this season. At Bayern Munich they played 0:0, but lost the away matches at Hoffenheim (1:4) and at Sampdoria Genua (2:3 aet).
