2009 the semi-final of the Europa League, the great
North-Derby between Werder Bremen and the Hamburger SV is this time rather a crisis summit on Saturday evening.
Like a team that will relegate played
Werder Bremen last Tuesday when got beaten 1:4 at Hannover. The unsteady defence once again made several mistakes and most other players are not in normal form as well. At least two important pillars will play against Hamburg, when defender Metzelder and striker Pizzaro will be back from injury. Bremen made only four points in the Bundesliga so far and also lost last Saturday at home against Mainz with 0:2. In the Weserstadion they could at least beat Köln (4:2) and Sampdoria (3:1), against Tottenham they played 2:2 at home.
Not an awful lot better is the situation for the
Hamburger SV, they also have their problems after a primarily good start. Recently they couldn't beat Nürnberg at home (1:1), made only a lucky point in the derby at St.Pauli last Sunday (1:1) and got beaten at home 1:3 by Wolfsburg on Wednesday. They played a good pressing tactic against Wolfsburg, but once again had big problems to create chances.
