Twente Enschede has begun the group stage with a 1:0-home victory against Racing Santander. On the second matchday it put a 2:3-away defeat against Manchester City. Last week Twente were in UEFA Cup not in action. In the Dutch championship the team of Steve McClaren stands on the fourth table rank. On last Saturday Twente won in Den Haag with 2:1, Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic scored the winner goal.
Schalke 04 has already finished three matches in group A. The 3:1-home victory against Paris St. Germain followed a 1:1 against Racing Santander and last a 0:2-home defeat against Manchester City. For manager Fred Rutten it is a special match. Before his engagement as Schalke-coach Rutten was manager of Twente Enschede. Schalke has lost from the last five matches (four in German Bundesliga, one in UEFA Cup) four.
