The showdown-weeks in Spain keep going. In one of the clashs of title contenders in the Primera Division FC Valencia will face Messi & Co on
Saturday, the 6th of December (Kick-Off: 10 pm CET). Barca underlined its superiority last week with an amazing 3:0-victory in Sevilla. Will Valencia go down as well?
The goal-scoring machine of Barcelona is running at a high pace. Pepe Guardiola’s team has already scored foruty goals in thriteen games in La Liga. Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi rank first and third on the run for the title of the best goalscorer. Eto’o’s suspension may hurt the Catalans but with Henry, Gudjohnson and Krkic they have high-class alternatives to break Valencia’s defence.
Indeed the defence is one of the reasons for Valencia’s success. If they can keep Barca off scoring, they can build on the counter-attacking skills of David Villa and Juan Mate. They may even be able to surprise at Camp Nou and be the first squad to take three points on the journey back home. Valencia seem to enjoy being the away-team, not having lost in any of their away gamaes this season.
The last games beetween both teams became a catastrophe for Valencia and reflected their terrible 22007/08 campaign-
