West Ham faces an uphill battle as they look for their first league points at Old Trafford against Manchester United. Avram Grant has had a tough time so far at Upton Park, after 3-0 and 3-1 losses to Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers showed the team is having problems with confidence and ambition. Midweek saw the Hammers progress to the next stage of
Carling Cup action with a 1-0 away defeat of Oxford United. However, Grant must find a way to energize, inspire, even scare the hell out of his players if West Ham are to wake up (and avoid relegation).
The Red Devils were disappointed yet again at Craven Cottage, where the weekend's 2-2 draw kept Fulham FC undefeated in the past 3 home matches against Manchester. Wayne Rooney missed this match with a stomach bug but Sir Alex has confirmed he will start against West Ham. The Community Shield against Chelsea and subsequent Premiership opener against Newcastle showed promise and Sir Alex will look to regain that momentum against the struggling visitors.

Despite the small setback last week against Fulham, Ferguson is good at getting his team back on track at home. He will adopt an attacking formation in order to get morale back up. West Ham are having a tough time of things and to be honest, I don't have much faith in their current manager.
Tip: Manchester United -2 (Asian Handicap)
